Conscious Sedation

Many people experience intense fear and anxiety when thinking about visiting the dentist. Whether you had a bad experience as a child or as an adult, dental phobia is real, and it can keep you from getting the dental care you need.

The Given Smile team understands how pervasive and common the problem is. We have partnered with Dr Raphael Grossi from RiverSide Anaesthesia to offer safe sedation for our patients provided by an anaesthetist.

Sedation dentistry can best be described as a form of 'conscious sedation’. Also known as ‘twilight', this technique is a drug-induced state by which the patient receives intravenous doses of sedatives and painkillers dental. The sedation is safely administered and supervised by an anaesthetist. The ultimate goals are to provide optimal working conditions for the dentist while the patient remains conscious and responsive yet in a calm, dreamlike state where time flies by. No discomfort, just results!
